Monochrome for SS13.

I've had a super-busy half term this is the reason why these posts are short and sweet! and if i'm honest not great content (sorry) but i've had such a manic half term with seeing friends etc, i've had these posts lined up because of that!

I've really been loving the monochrome trend for spring summer, I usually wear a bold colour in my day to day outfits which I have incorporated into this trend, I love to wear a black and white outfit with a bold statement piece which could be anything from neon socks to neon lips!

Above is my tips for the monochrome trend, and my 3 fave outfits from lfw 13 catwalks!
Whats your favourite? I'd love to know.

Hope your all well :)

SS13: Lusting

Here are just a few things that I have recently been lusting over!

High waisted vintage levi jeans- you can get these from around £30 via eBay. I love the way these look rolled up with sandal platformless heels and they really remind me of the 90's (which is my favourite era), I'm still looking to find the perfect pair for myself- I hope I can pull them off as well as I've seen others do it!

Lace/Mesh bras- these are hot. I've seen these on so many celebrities and I really love these showing through a sheer shirt! The one I've chosen is £65 and from the brand Agent Provocateur which I found is Net-A-Porter, but I've seen these everywhere from places like Topshop to Asos.

Topshop flatforms- I had some black ones from last summer which I wore the absolute shit out of and I'm in the market for another pair and I think I'm going to get them on my uniform! I love that these are white which fits in perfectly with the monochrome trend and the ankle strap is so caaauuuute. £35

Michael Kors Selma- I've decided I'm going to treat myself to this after I finish this year of college, its stunning and I want the neon pink one! To me it's a cross between 'that zara bag' 'that celine bag' and 'that prada bag' everyone and there mothers seem to own! £315

Lion head necklace- as see on rihanna and many many bloggers, this is fierce and I've found it on eBay for a fiver!

Circle cat eye sunglasses- £7 eBay.

SS13 Trend: NEON

I have been all over the neon trend, I just love the way it looks and it really reminds me of my childhood when I used to wear blue eyeliner and jelly shoes! I've been rocking the whole monochrome outfit with a neon statement piece, which is my favourite way of incorporating two trends and mixing them together! Here are just a few of my favourite pieces from the neon trend.

Shirt- £30, Monki
Skirt- £645, Simone Rocha via Net-A-Porter
Shoes- £20, River Island
Heels- £195, Kate Spade
Clear Clutch- £23, Zara
Cambridge satchel, £100, Modcloth.com
Both Necklaces- £44, Juicy Couture
Lipstick- £14, Limecrime
Nail Polishes- £8, AA

*All prices sound via Polyvore*

I like these posts because I'm more of a looker than a reader, I like to look at pretty things and get straight to the point, I hope you guys appreciate that!

Leave me your thoughts on the neon trend, and also if there's any amazing pieces that you've recently picked up I'd love to know! Holly x

Lipsticks for £1?! Inc NYX, Revlon, Rimmel Etc!

There's a small cosmetics shop near where I live, it sells everything from makeup, fragrance to hair extensions etc! I love it in there, the people are lovely and the shop is beautiful! Unfortunately it's closing down, jumped onto that bandwagon many other retailers are at the minute, it's sad for a moment but then I see them selling off all their makeup for a pound a piece, and their offer- 6 items for £5! Who wouldn't?

I bought 12 items, which cost me as little as £10. But today I'm showing you the 7 lipsticks I picked up, some real gems, and amazing quality.

From left to right- ASTOR, 022 Caribbean. Revlon, 305 Pearl. Revlon, 26 Softshell Pink. Revlon, 34 Plush Red. Rimmel, 500 Diva Red. NYX BL37 Black Cherry. NYX BL55 Glamour.

All familiar brands and they all had their plastic seal around them. Brilliant quality for the price! My faves NYX Black Cherry! What's yours?

Get yo' platforms on! - Underground creeper review

Platform Shoes? Creepers? Flatforms? My review.

My first pair of creepers were Dalmation print black ones, I bought these from the Oxford Street Office store around a year ago. They originally retail at £95 but I got £9.50 (10%) student discount off! I put off buying creepers for about a year before I actually caved because of the heafty price tag, but after research into the leading brand Underground, I gained knowledge how greatly the shoes were made. With the cheaper versions of creepers the sole is usually made from foam, but Underground uses very heavy duty rubber, which is why these shoes last years and years.

Sorry they're so battered! Well loved and all.

The shoes themselves are extremely comfy, I could easily walk around in these all day, they feel soft on the feet and it doesn't feel like you're walking on top of 2 inches worth of hardcore rubber!
One thing I would say is they are very heavy, this could become a problem if you have extremely skinny ankles as as well the shoes come up slightly big.

I was strolling through ASOS sale, and I came across a few pairs of Underground creepers in the sale, they we're around £60 but I wasn't swayed. I then saw these, green with a thick white sole, now I know these aren't going to be everyones taste, but I absolutely loved them! and the best thing of all they we're only £26! Absolute bargain, I actually bought 2 pairs and sold one on ebay and made an extra 20 quid! (skills I know).

Not as worn but definitely had a good wear! Not the most versatile shoe, but a statement, and Teddy fashion dating back to the 50's, I don't care if creepers aren't 'on trend' anymore!

Lusting

Anyone wanna buy me these? No? I thought not!

1. New Balance 574's. I've been forever lusting after New Balance trainers, and always wanted a bright pair, and then I stumbled across these beauties on Polyvore and oh my I NEED! They're custom made and you can do it yourself at newbalance.com for £90 (£140).

2. Homies Beanie. The forever infamous Homies beanie, as seen on Pintrest and Tumblr, a recreation of the 'Hermes' logo, I fricken love it! Would look great with any plain outfit, and even on those lazy days.

3. Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac. If I got a pound for every time I googled 'Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac' I'd be a wealthy gal. Neon yellow is my all time FAVE colour! I just cannot justify paying £170 for a small bag that to be honest, isn't actually very practical. Buy here: http://www.my-wardrobe.com/rebecca-minkoff/neon-yellow-mini-mac-clutch-with-chain-shoulder-strap-112623

4. Michael Kors Watch. I've got a gold Michael Kors watch and I wear the crap out of it, I really adore this silver one, but again, I hate paying a lot of money for one thing (I could buy a lot of clothes with 200 quid!!) but anywho- i'm gonna save! Buy similar here: http://www.asos.com/Michael-Kors/Michael-Kors-MK8086-Silver-Steel-Bracelet-Watch/Prod/pgeproduct.aspx?iid=2488922&SearchQuery=silver%20michael%20kors%20watch&sh=0&pge=0&pgesize=20&sort=-1&clr=Silver

Let me know what your currently lusting after as I would love to know!
Hope you all enjoyed reading, Love Holly X

Is a Mulberry bag worth the money?!

Welcome to my second official blog post lovelies, today I will be answering some of the questions I asked myself before receiving a Mulberry bag.

So, first of all, the quality? The quality on my bag is lovely, I take all my college stuff in this bag, and use it for every day-to-day use, it has held heavy sketchbooks, packed makeup bags, sprays and girly bits and bobs! It's very tough, and seems really long-lasting, the finish on this bag is absolutely beautiful, and there is no doubt that this bag is wonderfully made.

Price? £600 for a bag seems pretty steep, and although I am in love with it, use it every day and look after it like it's my child *sad*, I just do not see myself paying the money for it, I was fortunate enough to receive this as a gift, and I certainly was extremely grateful, but £600 for a bag? I could think of better use for that money! *cough cough* CLOTHES. (Like I don't already have enough!).

Still getting used to this ol'blogging shiz, and still feel like I'm talking to myself (I probably am) but I'm gonna bare with it!

Love Holly X

oh and by the way, sorry about the quality of the photos, I can't find my camera charger so I had to take these photos using my iPad, also awful lighting! Sorry guysssss mwah x

Jeffrey Campbell Spiked Lita

So I've been lusting after these beauties for well over a year now and just couldn't justify paying £150 for a pair of heels when that money could go towards clothes! It would be very rare for me to wear heels in the day, so £150 for shoes to me is a lot of money, as I'm sure it is for lots of other girls my age!

I was browsing through the NastyGal website, and noticed that they were in the sale for £53! Yes £53, in my eyes that's practically £100 off, and then realised that it was a 25% discount day, on top of sale items too! I definitely took advantage of this and I ordered the all white Lita spikes as well which they do not stock in the UK *guilty moment* and they came to around £83. I didn't care about the ridiculous customs charge that I would get because in my eyes I got an absolute steal.

Enough rambling and onto the review!.....

The shoes them self are extremely comfy to walk in, with around a 5.5'' heel and a 3'' platform, your foot is almost flat. I myself am terrible in heels and usually end up with my stilettos in one hand in the air after an hour and after one to many cocktails! But these, oh my I could quite possible run a marathon in them! (maybe not literally). But in all seriousness, these shoes are still on NastyGal, and I've also seen various colours on sale in places such as Office and SoleStruck. If you want to invest your money into some bada$$ shoes, get these! and kick, some, asssssss!! In style!

Hope I'm not talking to myself like I most probably was in my first post haha, have a great day dolls.
Love Holly X

P.S. Sorry about the photo quality! Still getting used to my camera, and need to play around with lighting, and trying a find a good spot to take my photos.
